My love of music is what made me choose to be a DJ. The way music, when played in the right sequence, can completely talk to someone. Since 1984 this is all I’ve ever wanted to do. I have a degree in speech communication from Lakeland College in central Illinois. I have worked on & off in the radio industry since 1991 as a DJ, music director, and even a program director. The thing I love most about being a DJ is knowing that someone has entrusted you with the most important day of their lives. I love the responsibility of ensuring that everything goes off without a hitch and everyone is happy and enjoying themselves. I also enjoy providing entertainment to bars, whether it is DJ'ing or karaoke. When I run a show, I want people to be transported back to where they were when they first heard the songs I’m playing. Nothing excites me more than to hear someone say remember that time when…. . Music, like scent or a taste of something, can transport you back to a time & place. I have spent most of my career in the business world at a convention audio recording company finally to become the Marketing Director. I only recently found the opportunity to implement my great love of music and compliment my technical expertise in all things electronic by becoming a DJ. I have always been into music and audio equipment but it really cemented for me in 8th grade when I DJ'd my own graduation party and practically the entire school showed up. I began working with Open Mic by singing Karaoke. I love to perform and tweak the systems to make the music and singing sound their absolute best. In a short time I have excelled in the "business" of controlling the party with music. I love studying whatever crowd I am working with and trying to weave together the perfect mix of music to get them pumped up all night. I really pack a lot of energy into my shows and use a quick wit to keep the atmosphere light and fun. My love of music spans nearly all genres: rock, disco, classic sing-a-longs, hip-hop etc. The fun part for me is knowing by crowd comments and reaction that I have read them well and created a memorable night for everyone. In short, whatever the occasion, I am the consummate professional and I take the responsibility of creating a great experience seriously.  I am one of the newest members of Open Mic Productions.
I have a gorgeous wife and 3 amazing children. I also love music and the reaction I get from people
when I see the way a certain song affects them. I also love to sing and see the
way others get joy from “being the star they really are”. In my opinion
irreverence and fun when doing karaoke can give the evening just the right tone
to push the night from just another night to an event you won‘t soon forget. If

My goal is to have fun, and create a great atmosphere to deliver the best
experience possible every time I press play. I play the newest music out
there, along with the hottest music from every era and style. So I'm in tune,
trendy, yet original and focused on your party. My ultimate satisfaction comes
from watching people have fun, tap their feet, laugh, dance & party. All in
all, I give 'em what they want-a great experience every time. Good crowd
response comes from listening to your customer's needs and feedback. It is my
desire for you to have the best time possible. As far as experience, I've been
entertaining since childhood but officially for 10 years. I've performed as
long ago as middle school as an M.C. and done competitive singing and dance
throughout my life and even now. I can play several instruments including bass
guitar, keyboards, drums, trombone, etc. I also mix and record my own
music. To date, I have hosted several karaoke and dance venues ranging
from partys to night clubs through-out the Midwest just this year. I look
forward to hosting your next event!

Performing is my life's passion. I've sang for several bands and studied theater
in college. I love all types of music, especially the blues. I'm from Tennessee
and "steeped in down-home," but I'm not limited by that. Even though I love
roots, bluegrass and stuff that's been around for 50 plus years, I'm intrigued
by innovative and cutting edge material. Open Mic gives me the opportunity to
share these passions with everyone. I am fearless when it comes to engaging the
audience. Some hosts will stay by the system tweak the settings or even just
stand in front of the TV. I would rather come to you, have you sing with me good
or bad. My biggest strength is that On a night where there are few singers I can
still put on a show and not have to resort to sitting around or just playing
music. I want to make people happy and let them sing and dance all night if they
want. Everybody's a star, so be the star you really are; that's what this is all
about.

Hi, my name is Frizzy and although I am new to Open Mic Productions I have been a DJ for just under 10 years. I am currently enrolled
at the Broadcast Center pursuing a career as an on-air personality in radio.
Music is my passion, I was the singer in a band for 13 years and love to be on
stage. I still get a rush when I see that what I'm doing is working. I have
worked countless parties and clubs such as Morgan Street Brewery, Topshooters
Bar and Grill, and the Pheonix to name a few. My main objective when I'm
working is to give people a night of entertainment they will always remember.

My brother Chuck is probably my earliest musical
influence. From there on I began to develop my own likes & dislikes. I began DJ'ing & doing
karaoke shows
in 1997 at Crusoe's in Oakville Mo. It was there that I learned the most
important lesson in this business--to be successful, you have to play what
people want, not what you want to play. I literally learned this business from
the ground up, my brother would take me to bars & let me sing. The advantages I
bring to Open Mic Productions are my diverse music sense and my singing ability.
I can keep a Karaoke crowd singing and singing along while laughing with a
lighthearted, good-time atmosphere. I like mainstream music but I also
stay aware of the artists on the rise that will be the future. Weddings are a
whole different entity. It’s amazing when you think about the amount of trust
someone is placing in you on the most important day of their life. My pledge to
those who chose Open Mic Productions is to do the very best I can each and every
time I play. This is all I do, give us the chance to make your special day or
event the memory of a lifetime.
